Aya Ibrahim wins the Xilinx Open Hardware 2018 PhD prize

Doctoral candidate Aya Ibrahim was one of only two recipients of the Open Hardware 2018 prize in the PhD Category.

Working in the laboratory of Prof. Giovanni de Micheli (LSI), Ms. Ibrahim was given this award for her work on an inexpensive, 5 Watt, 1024-channel 2D & 3D Ultrasound Imager.

Also working in her team were two Masters students, William Simon, now a Doctoral candidate in the Embedded Systems Laboratory and Damien Doy, now working in industry.
