Technology transfer and Innovation

The School of Engineering has very strong links to both the Swiss industry and international industry partners. The vast majority of laboratories engage in collaborative projects with industry in fields like renewable energy, the watchmaking industry, advanced manufacturing or Internet-Of-Things.

To strengthen collaborations and initiatives, framework agreements have been negotiated with several dozens of industry partners like Zeiss, Richemont, Audemars Piguet, Logitech, PSA Peugeot-Citroën, or Rolex.

Moreover, corporate donors have allowed the creation of 11 funded chairs, to significantly expand our School reach and activities in important areas, like neuroprosthetic technology, medtronic, photomedicine or micromechnanical and horological design.

Finally, the School implemented a mandatory industry internship to provide all Master students in the engineering disciplines with industrial experience and an insight into approaches and processes in industry before graduation.
