A team of researchers led by Jürgen Brugger, head of the Microsystems Laboratory in the School of Engineering, has published a new paper that describes a novel approach to improving the performance of next-generation transistors made from two-dimensional semiconducting materials.

Sandro Carrara, head of the Bio/CMOS Interfaces Laboratory in the EPFL School of Engineering, has received the Scientist Medal from the International Association of Advanced Materials in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field in the area of biomaterials and biodevices.

Simon Henein is part engineer, part artist – and a fully devoted teacher. Striving to combine all three of these roles in a unique approach he calls “collective creation,” Henein was named the best teacher in the microengineering section for 2023.
