Minors for students in Electrical Engineering

In order to further a particular aspect of study or to develop interfaces with other sections of the EPFL, the student may choose to study one of the minors offered by EPFL.

Minors are of two types:

At the latest, at the end of the first semester of Master studies, the student announces the choice of a minor to its section and enrols for the chosen minor using the “re-enrolment form” of IS-Academia. A list of all minors mentioning whether or not they are recommended by the student’s section is located in the “Minor” file.

The choice of courses that make up a minor will be with the approval of the student’s section and with the person responsible for Minors.

A minor is successfully passed when at least 30 credits are obtained among the permitted courses. These minors are part of a 120 ECTS credit master’s degree according to the section’s application regulations.

For some minors, suggested course lists have been established. They can be found at the bottom of the page “Rules and Regulation“.

The financial engineering minor is limited to 5 participants per academic year and granted on a first registered first admitted basis. Enrollment requires a preliminary agreement from the section of origin.
